The Government, in The Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014, set out a new audit framework for local public authorities which will exempt bodies with an annual turnover not exceeding £25,000 to be exempt from routine external audit. These smaller authorities are required to publish a set list of documents in order to comply with a new “Transparency Code for Smaller Authorities”; the intention being to ensure local electors and rate payers are able to easily access relevant information about the authorities’ accounts and governance.
As the Responsible Financial Officer for Lilley Parish Council I, Judith Crosier, can confirm that the 2021 Annual Return has been completed and is published below, as yet unaudited. The external auditors are PKF Littlejohn, 15 Westferry Circus, Canary Wharf, London E14 4HD and the audit will be carried out during July.
The Parish Council has set the period for the exercise of public rights for the accounts for the year ending 31st March 2021 to commence on 1 July 2021 and to end on 11 August 2021.
